Women’s Health Camp in Vijayawada, India : March 2-8, 2024
Preventative health care has been proven to decrease morbidity and mortality. However, there is still a lack of awareness and/or access to screening in many developing countries. The burden of illness is often placed on the lower-income segments of the population who have greater barriers to education and affordability of healthcare. In India, over 70% of women with breast cancer present in an advanced stage. By improving access to women's health screening programs, early detection and treatment would increase significantly.

For Women's day, Mam4Mom was able to sponsor free screening mammograms and abdominal/pelvic ultrasounds for underprivileged women in Vijayawada, India in collaboration with Dr. Suneetha (Ankura Hospitals, Vijayawada), Jayaprada Foundation, American Cancer Center, Kamineni Hospitals and Pramodhini Breast Clinic.

We would like to thank Dr. Suneetha, Mrs. Chamundeshwari (Jayaprada foundation) and all the radiologists at the imaging centers for helping organize and facilitate this event. We hope that this initiative will make a positive difference in the lives of these women.
